DELHI - AGRA - JAIPUR - UDAIPUR - DELHI - MUMBAI - COCHIN - PERIYAR- KUMARAKOM - CHENNAI - KOLKATA
Day 01 - Arrive Delhi
On arrival you will be met by a Group Tours to India representative and transferred to hotel, where we will be holding the rooms on ready occupancy basis. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02- Delhi
Morning excursion to the city included visiting Laxmi Narayan Temple - the Place of Gods, India Gate - the memorial to the soldiers who laid down their lives in the World War I., Parliament House. Afternoon tour of Old Delhi covering Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in Asia, Red Fort - the red stone magic, Gandhi Memorial - The memoir of father of the nation. Also enjoy the sound & light show in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03 - Delhi - Agra
Today morning drive to Agra en route visiting Akbar's tomb at Sikandara. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. In the afternoon take a city tour covering Taj Mahal, Red fort etc. Overnight stay at the hotel in Agra.
Day 04 - Agra - Jaipur
Today drive to Jaipur en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, India's Pompeii (Old deserted capital built by Akbar) Jama Masjid, the Buland Darwaza, Palace of Jodha Bai, Birbal Bhawan & Panch Mahal. On arrival in Jaipur, check in at the hotel. Afternoon free to enjoy the city atmospherics. Overnight stay at the hotel in Jaipur.
Day 05 - Jaipur
Take a morning excursion to Amer fort with joy ride on a painted elephant. After taking lunch take a city tour covering City Palace city includes City Palace, which houses a series of large courtyards, beautiful gardens & buildings with a seamless blend of Rajasthani & Mughal architecture, Jantar Mantar, the royal Observatory built by Sawai Jai Singh II, Nawab Sahab Ki Haveli, Ram Niwas Gardens, drive past Hawa Mahal (the Palace of Winds) - and the Bazaar etc. Overnight stay at the hotel in Jaipur.
Day 06 - Jaipur - Udaipur
Transfer to the airport to catch a flight to Udaipur. Upon arrival at the airport, transfer to the hotel. After check in at the hotel embark on a sightseeing tour of the Udaipur city Covering the City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Fateh Sagar Lake, Saheliyon-Ki-Bari (queen's resort for her friends) and Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir (Folk Art Museum). Jagdish temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and can be approached by a broad flight of steps. The temple is a fine example of Indo-Aryan style of architecture, City Palace - located amidst Lake Pichola, Eklingji & Nagda temples - built in white marble with a double storeyed porch. Overnight stay at the hotel in Udaipur.
Day 07 - Udaipur - Delhi
Transfer to the airport for flight to Mumbai. After arrival at Mumbai (Bombay) you will be met by a Groups Tours to India representative and will be transferred to the hotel. Afternoon take a city tour covering Gateway of India, Kamla Nehru Park, Mani Bhawan, Prince of Wales Museum, Dhobi Ghat, and drive past the Crawford market, Marine drive & Flora Fountain. Also visit the Hanging Gardens situated on the slopes of Malabar Hill, providing a spectacular view of Marine drive & Chowpatty Beach. Overnight stay at the hotel in Mumbai.
Day 08 Mumbai -Cochin
In the morning transfer to the airport to fly to Cochin, also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea. After arrival, check in at the hotel. An afternoon city tour covers Jewish Synagogue built in 1568, St. Francis church. Originally built of wood in 1503, the church is the oldest in India. Witness a Kathakali dance show in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 09: Cochin - Periyar
Travel to Periyar. Enjoy the scenic journey at Periyar where you will be greeted by the mist-capped peaks, spice plantations and open grasslands and stunning waterfalls. The trekking trails await you to quench your exciting adventurous spirit. At arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 10: Periyar
Morning boat ride, afternoon cooking lesson on Kerala cuisine. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11: Periyar
Full day is reserved for cooking lesson. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12: Periyar
After taking breakfast visit the spice market. Attend the Ayurvedic principles of cooking, afternoon vegetarian cooking class. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 13: Periyar/ Kumarakom
Transfer to Kumarakom for boat ride to Coconut Lagoon. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 14: Kumarakom
Full day cooking lesson. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 15: Kumarakom/Chennai
Fly to Chennai. Embark on an afternoon city tour covering the Kapaleeswarar temple, Santhome Church, Fort Museum and National Art Gallery. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 16: Chennai
Embark on a city tour. Attend the cooking lesson.
Day 17 Chennai/Kolkata
From Chennai drive to Kanchipuram, once the capital of Pallava and one of the seven holy cities of India famous for its thousand temples. Also visit the numerous temples including Kailasanatha Temple, Vaikunda Perumal Temple, Varatharaja Temple and Ekambareswara Temple, which give the city its name as 'the temple city'. Also visit Kamakshi Temple, dedicated to Parvati "the goddess with the eyes of love". Travel to Mahabalipuram, the famous Pallava port in the 6th and 9th centuries AD and noted for the cave temple, shore temple and monolithic rathas (rock-carved temple chariots) and bas-reliefs. Return to Chennai. After checking out of the hotel transfer to the airport to fly to Kolkata. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 18: Kolkata
After taking breakfast embark on a city tour of Kolkata.
Day 19 Kolkata
Take the full day Bengali cooking lesson. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 20: Depart Kolkata
Depart for your onward destination or way back home from the Kolkata International Airport.
